Tales From Maple Grove   

 

is a new series that follows multiple characters trying to make their way in a city where the odds always seem to be stacked against them. 

​

Maple Grove is going through hard times.  Companies are leaving or going bankrupt.  Despair is growing.  And crime is rising.

​

But what Maple Grove lacks in financial stability, it makes up in an abundance of secrets. Secrets that the local government, the founding families, most of the city's police, and local newspaper, would like to keep buried.

 

And while the powers-that-be want to ensure that the city appears to be a safe place in which to invest, they are anxious to attract new sources of revenue, even agreeing to host a shifty film company looking to exploit the city for its own gains.

And while the city’s power brokers work to consolidate even more control, by cutting legal corners and looking the other way for the sake of “economic development”, it is up to a disparate group of atypical heroes to take a stand and save their city:  Cub reporter John Marshall, army veteran Laura Kane, hard-as-nails detective Mary Myles, conspiracy theorist Carly Simms, and newspaper editor & social crusader, Martin Stiller.

Our heroes are looking for the truth. And as the stakes get higher for our coterie of do-gooders, some will risk their lives to maintain order in a chaotic city. Adding to the chaos, there is a rise of supernatural anomalies that are caused by an unseen energy force, emanating from under the city. What Evil lies beneath Maple Grove?

Each episode of Tales From Maple Grove is self-contained, with a resolution of the story’s conflict. Each season has a central issue with each episode providing a thematic link to the principal story arc. 

 

The tone and style will vary from episode to episode depending on the story and situation. The viewer will be dropped into a world that is both familiar and astonishing, crime drama meets the supernatural. 

 

The series will feature an ensemble cast who may play different roles in each episode.  The mayor in one episode can be a dishwasher at the pub for the next, allowing viewers to get to know the actors as well as their characters.

 

While each episode will introduce the audience to new characters in their own stories, they will be supported by the ensemble cast; a variety show with a common bond.
